Rujak Gobet

Image
Have you ever tried rujak gobet? It is common food in Malang that the people usually have several kinds of rujak. Let's say rujak cingur, rujak manis, rujak serut or rujak gobet, and others. The price is also cheap, you can get a portion for 10 thousands rupiahs. Rujak is like fruit salad with local sauce. If you want to make it, I'll try to give you the recipe: Fruits: a mango, a cucumber, a pineapple, a Mexican turnip, and other fruits you like. Clean it and grate it. Sauce: brown sugar, tamarind, salt, chilies, fermented shrimp (terasi), fried peanuts. Grind it and pour some water. For serving, mix the grated fruit with the sauce. It will be tastier when it is served cold.

Visiting Taman Kendedes

Image
Yes, Taman Kendedes. Some of you maybe familiar with this park. It is located next to Arjosari Bus Station. Do we have to pay to enter this park? No. It's free and it has open area, so if you want to see this park, just come. I went there with my husband after we visited his friend, we just parked our car next to the lane then we took some picture and enjoyed the park. Maybe you have some questions about who Kendedes is? Yepp, it's a long story of Singosari era. Long-long time ago, she was the consort of king Tunggul Amentung. Later, Kendedes' children became the kings and queens after his father. Kendedes is famous because almost all of her children became king and queen. She is known as Prameswari. The location of the Taman Kendedes is believed to be the village where Kendedes lived before Tunggul Amentung married her. It was Panawijen, but now people call it Palawijen.

Moving to Malang

Malang is the big town I am living now. There are so many interesting places that I can share to you. Unfortunately, I am a newbie habitant. Hehehehe. Later, in shaa Alloh I will share to you some places I visited. First, I want to talk about its weather. It's cold you know. For me, who lived in a lower area and had been accostumed to warm weather, adaptating to this cold weather is not easy. I need to manage my bathing time so that I can avoid being cold after taking a bath. I take a bath after the sun shines brightly, and before it sets. During the cloudy days, I prefer hot water to cold water. The second, the third and so on will be told later in the next post. See ya!
